Transcultural Grandparent Caregiving & Wellbeing
My program of research focuses on promoting the health and well-being of grandmothers who are primary caregivers for their grandchildren. My work highlights how caregiving intersects with socioeconomic, gender, health, and structural inequalities, with the goal of advancing sustainable and community- informed solutions that strengthen families and communities globally.
- My foundational studies examined the lived experiences and psychosocial well-being of grandparent-caregivers in Uganda.
- Currently, I use participatory and community-engaged approaches to design and test interventions supporting grandmother-caregivers in both rural and urban communities in Uganda and Utah.
